Established by Soroptimist member, Sue Weisenhaus-Braz, in October, 2007, Hannah's House provides a new beginning for homeless women with addiction problems. Hannah's House provides housing for the women and their preschool children, as well as addiction counseling, money counseling and help obtaining work. See Hanford Sentinal story http://www.hanfordsentinel.com/articles/2009/
Soroptimist International of Hanford assisted in furnishing the house, and adopted a resident room to decorate when Hannah's House opened. The garden and playground was one of our Saturday of Service projects.
In addition, Hanford Soroptimists mentor the women by providing life skills training.
